Girls World Futsal Championships - Final Day

Another wonderful day at the ESPN Wide World of Sports, where we had lots of excitement, goals and a great feeling of camaraderie.

Our youngest World Champions, in Pre-Benjamin, were Borussia from Texas who bested Bahia from Maryland 4-1 in the finals. Bahia´s Benjamin team though, beat Tampa Bay United from Florida 5-3 in the finals to become World Champions. Tampa Bay United also had an Alevin team make it to the finals where they fell to Alevin World Champions, CCF Chaos from Maryland. In Infantil ABK Futsal Academy from Michigan beat AFF East City Eastern Belles from New Zealand 8-3 to become World Champions.

And finally the day ended with the Cadete finals between City Futsal from Texas and ABK Futsal Academy from Michigan. The match finished in spectacular style as ABK scored the winning goal in the last 18 seconds of overtime to win 5-4 and become Cadete World Champions. To top it all off, Brazilian legend Falcão joined us for the Award Ceremonies to congratulate the teams and hand out their awards.

It was an amazing experience that we hope that you have enjoy as much as we did.

We hope to see you tomorrow again at the HP Field House for the PFL Supercopa!

Women's Futsal Cup hosted in Guadalajara, Spain

Guadalajara saw some of the best female teams in the world coming to town by the finish of last June. The region locals Alovera, Segovia and Atletico Madrid welcomed the internationals Benfica (Portugal), Gamers Futsal (USA) and WSFL Flames (Australia).

As it was expected Benfica and Atletico Madrid showed why they're among the best female futsal teams in the world and won all their group matches. Then both Alovera and Segovia defeated Australians and Americans and earn their passage to the semi finals.

Semi finals saw Atletico Madrid and Benfica winning their ticket to the final. There, with the presence of two Spanish National Team players, like Jose Ruiz (whose invaluable help made this tournament happen as good as it was) and Adrian "Pola" Alonso on the stands, Atletico won with a convincing 3 - 0.

Besides their final result, Americans and Aussies had an amazing time and promised to return next year, while locals were already looking forward to both receiving them, and also having some other competition like this one again.

What about you? Are you ready to test yourself against the best futsal players in the world?

We hope to see you all next year! We'll all continue helping this sport getting bigger.
